Tomah, WI- GO Racing Promotions announced an 18 race schedule for Tomah-Sparta Speedway for 2018, the first season the track is under new management. Returning to the quarter-mile paved oval track located between Tomah and Sparta north of Highway 21 will be the Modifieds, Sportsman, Hobby Stocks and Dash Cars as well as the Hornets and new entry level 6shooter division.
“This schedule has been a lot of years in the making. Our entire team is excited to welcome the fans and drivers back to Tomah-Sparta.” Stated GO Racing’s Greg Oliver. “It has been a goal of mine to be involved here, after decades of racing experience on and off the track, it is time to get going at a track I hold dear to me.”
The green flag will wave on the 2018 season, Sunday afternoon April 29 with all six divisions in action during the Spring Fever Season Opener. Friday Night Fever will mark the start of weekly racing at the track coined ‘DAYTOMAH’ on Friday Night May 11 with Spectacular Drags added to the fun.
A multitude of regional touring racing series have added Tomah-Sparta Speedway to their schedules. The popular Midwest Dash Series will visit on Friday May 18 while the Great Northern Sportsman Series headlines the 3rd annual Cranberry Cup on Friday night June 15. Fireworks will fill the night air on Friday June 29 during the Mid-Season Championship which features all six weekly divisions plus the American Super Cups.
Bringing back memories of yesteryear, the Upper Midwest Vintage Series will rumble into Tomah-Sparta with their pristine, high horsepower machines Friday July 6. The high paced action of the Mid-American Stock Car Series returns Friday night August 10.
The Super Late Models of the Central Wisconsin Racing Association will headline the Sunday afternoon September 16 Fall Fever Classic. This marks the Super Late Models first visit to Tomah-Sparta in more than 2 decades. The CWRA ‘Stars to Legends’ Tour will headline an exciting afternoon of racing, additional support divisions will be named in the coming weeks.
An added twist this summer will be the addition of Chaos events on select Friday nights. These will be events like second over the line, flag pole race, and stop-n-go race. Tomah-Sparta will also have one on one Spectacular drags the first Friday night of each month.
