Berens Takes Midwest Dash Icebreaker

By: Aspen Andre (Wisconsin Dells, WI – April 9, 2017) 18 Midwest Dash Series drivers representing 7 Midwest racetracks had their day in the sun at Dells Raceway Park on Sunday. After a couple early race cautions Stoughton, WI’s Brandon DeLacy found himself in the drivers seat as he had a quarter of a track lead 8 laps into the 25 lap feature. A caution on lap 10 would be the last time DeLacy would see a lead as Slinger, WI’s Tom Berens found daylight on the outside groove and through several more cautions would never look back.

In the closing laps quick time qualifier George Sparkman of Loves Park, IL, who started last in the feature found his way all the way to the front for an impressive second place finish. Rio, WI’s James Junget who ran at the front of the pack most of the feature finished 3rd. Heat race winners were Brandon DeLacy, George Sparkman and Tom Berens.

The next event for the Midwest Dash Series will be Friday, June 30 at Madison International Speedway. For more information on the Midwest Dash Series go to www.midwestdash.com .
